The next day Chris is in his apartment. He decides to give Liam a call.
Liam takes the phone from Sara upon hearing it's for him. "Hello?"
Chris calls Sara's phone hoping to make a connection.

"Hi Chris, this is Liam right? I could use your help on a project I'm working on. Are you cool with that?"

"I don't know, what's the project?" Liam replied.

"I'd like you to help me ID the lady you spoke about. The one articulating the plans?"

"What do you mean? I mean she was a pretty brunnette lady with no soul. That's probably the best I could do with describing her. You probably saw as much of the mansion she was in as I did." said Liam dryly. "Unless I drew a sketch of her. Just remembered I had my sketchbook. Guess I was too focused on what I had lost."


"Well if it comes to that sure. But if I can get a name, you might be able to pick out a photograph from the internet...if I can find one."

"You didn't get a name by any chance did you?"


"No, I did not." Liam answered. "They just called her 'Madame'. Maybe she was French or something. I don't know." Liam answered.

"Didn't the preacher talk to some people or something. Maybe he knows."

"Yeah, one of the Harper clan. Chrissy might know as well. Is she there with you?"

"I just need a name, and we can get the ball rolling."

Chris grumbled to himself

"Yeah, I'm not sure if that's going to happen. A name I did hear was Ben Rose. He's supposed to be a figure in the final steps of the plan. If you want the woman's name, try calling Chrissy or the preacher."

"Oh and there was someone named Laura Harper involved too." Liam added

"Laura Harper is a journalist and Ben is on the city council. They're both human though...but maybe not as innocent as I once thought." He purses his lips. "You're an artist right? It might not be a bad idea to get a sketch going on that woman you saw, while its fresh in your mind. There's no guarantee I'll be able to find any photographs online."

"Yeah, I'll take a crack at it when I have the chance. I don't believe there will be any clear photographs of that woman anyway."
"Alright, thanks. We'll be in touch then." Chris disconnects the call.

Chris gives Chrisy a ring. "Hey Chrissy, its Chris. I was wondering if you could fill me in on some more of the details from the other night. Which member of the Harper clan did you end up speaking with?"

"Uh..could you refresh my memory, Chris? I don't recall talking to any vampires... Oh! Doi."

Chrissy laughed after a minute. "Im surprised that Joshua didn't tell you. It was a Susan Harper."

Liam Tonge rolled 6 dice to "Crafts + Expression + spec" 4,5,3,1,8,3 (1 successes)

"Susan Harper. Ok. I'm going to start digging into that a little more. Thanks again. Is there anything you need from me?"

"Actually.. have you talked to Liam lately?"

"Yes I just spoke with him. Oh, one more question. Was Susan Harper a brunette?"
"Did he seem O.K. to you?" Chrissy pauses. "Ah, yes. She had dark hair. What are you doing about Susan?"

Liam managed to create a sketch of the woman who had inspected the prisoners. He didn't like how her eyes had turned out... his sketch lacked that void of humanity. Yet it was a good likeness.


"I'd like to generate some public exposure toward this woman. Send out a red flag to the world so to speak. I figure, worst case scenario it'll give their PR team something to worry about. Best case, it'll attract more like minded people to the cause."
"The cause...?" Chrissy hedged. "Where are you sending the information out from?"

"These people had a lot of money, Chris. Enough to hire someone to track down a source. You be careful about where you send that from, O.K.? It wouldn't hurt to run what you're doing by your cell first. They did see our faces - Joshua and my husband and I. I'd hate for them to connect a new story and the people they just met."

"Yes, trying to stop the Harper clan and all that." He smirks at the other question. "I have my methods. Its nothing to worry about."

"Chris, messing with a vampire's cover isn't a laughing matter...." Chrissy sounded worried. "Just ask Liam if werewolves are friendly."

As Chris considered Chrissy's caution, he did recall something he'd heard through the net: Someone who had developed a camera capable of taking pictures of the supernatural. It was rare, but it had been certified. At least he thought so.

Chris nods his head. "The way I see it, we're all taking a lot of risks here. How long do you think it'll be until they make the connection to you and Joshua? And as for me. I've already been outted. So why hold back now?"
Chris thought about getting a camera like that...it would come in handy if he could find it.
"There's a difference between them knowing who we are and them deciding that we are threats. We haven't even perfected that new dissapearing tactic yet." And Chrissy gave a short laugh. "Why hold back now? Did you forget about the basement with the manacles? Once they figure out that the prisoners escaped, you can bet they'd up security. I don't want to wake up in a jail cell in someone's basement. I have a family to think of, Chris."

"Look, be careful Chris." Chrissy stressed. "Sleep on whatever you are considering. These things have nothing left but time."
"I think its best to assume the worst at this point, and start hitting them as hard as we can wherever we can. But I'll take your advice under advisement. I'll give it a few days before I go live with this."

Chris sends a text to the phone he had talked to Liam on. Target is Susan Harper, running a search now. Can you send a good picture of your sketch to my phone?

Chris spends the next hour doing internet research on "Susan Harper".He is looks for any pictures that would match up with Liam's sketch [assuming Liam sends it to him], and any other information.

After that he checks his Network Zero contacts.

He sends a picture of the Harper Family tree to Cypher along with the following message.

I got a hold of this recently. Source confirms that this is a whole family of non-human entities that fall under the vampire classification.

I also got another clue in regards to your tape. The female voice was picked out as Jennifer Harper. Still don't know who the male voice belongs to.

One source tells me that their plot involves spreading some kind of disease to overwhelm the local health care system. Is this the flu that is going around? They are also trying to infiltrate the banking system around here as well, though I don't know if these objectives are connected.

The Harpers are using a lot of average humans to help them out. I suspect that they have some method of controling people that goes beyond mere money, but still working on that. Any info would be helpful.

Liam sent a photo of his sketch using Sara's phone.

Searching for a 'Susan Harper' came up with an old newspaper article dated December 9th, 1911.
Wife and Mother found dead outside of home
Susan Kellog, 32, a devoted mother and home maker, was found dead outside her home last evening. Mrs. Kellog was born Ms. Susan Harper, grand niece of the business tycoon Henry Harper. Her death is one more tragedy befallen the Harper family, rumored to be plagued by misfortune.

Henry's eldest brother, Carson Harper, was a succusful business man until he died in a mugging in 1849. Just one year after, thier sister Charlotte Harper died in an automobile accident while crossing the Detroit River. In a gruesome turn, her body was never recovered from the river.
Young Henry inherited the business and until now, had a home blessed with two children and four grandchildren.

Ms Harper wed Ezra Kellog, a succusful salesman at Harper Finery, on February 1900. The two had one child, young Edward Kellog.

Mrs. Kellog's uncle, Carson Harper II, released a statement that his family mourns the loss of a loving mother and devoted wife. They ask for privacy at this time.
At the request of the family, an autopsy shall not be performed. The death is attributed to heart trouble that runs in the family.



An entire family of non - human entities? Are you sure? Cyper responds exactly four minutes after recieving your message.
My source says that vampires can not procreate. No Bella Edwardish kid or anything. See if you can get some kind of proof- that could really inspire people to open thier eyes.

The next paragraph included a link to a news report stating that another ten people had been hospitalized for the 'flu'. Three more had died- all elderly. That brought the death total up to nine deaths and nineteen hospitalizations, all elderly or young chidren.

Read the news much? Cypher quips. Flu is going like crazy. Streets are emptying out. Half are home sick and some are just too scared to go out. My nieghbor got her whole family immunized and her son still came down with it. Not bad enough to be hospitalized, thank goodness.

Not sure what that has to do with the banking system. Vampires stealing our money as well as our blood?
I'll shoot this off to some of my contacts and see what comes back.

On the control issue, this isn't the first time I've heard that mentioned. The other blogger I asked you about published a piece about vampires and mind control about a year back. His work was since taken offline, but I remember that it covered some pretty startling vampiric abilities like mind control and delayed hypnotic suggestions.

Got any proof?

Checking it, Chris was surprised to see that his name - and blog- were referenced by ward70.
This guy is on here blogging about things we can't confirm and then all of his photos are clearly frauds.
Chris spots several of his photos linked - but none of these are what he uploaded. They had all been doctored and even he had to admit that they looked unrealistic; like clever frauds.

Is this guy a fake or what? We have Network Zero posers now?

Cypher offered no opinion on the thread; which was odd in itself.
She ended her message with her usual

If Chris checked out Network Zero threads on the flu, he saw the same thread posted on Friday.

Chris was able to delete the pictures on his blog, but the doctored images had been thrown onto others' blogs, like grains of sand scattered in the digital desert. It would be impossible to retract all of them.

Yet he was no stranger to discredit and this wasn't even under his real name. Yet... his source of information, Cypher, was apparently aware & watching. Would the cloud of suspicion cost him an avenue of information?

Then of course there was the supernatural camera. What was it called? He could swear that he had heard about it here in the Network forums. Gaining access to it was perhaps possible right here on the forums..
