Holding the Line: Georgie & Edward

The man frowns, mid-slurp. "...Flatlander?"

A squad car pulls up in front of the 7 - 11, parking in full view of the wide glass windows of the building. You watch as a slightly balding Caucasian police officer exits the vehicle. He watches the store through the glass for a moment, giving the impression that he's studying you intently.

The second police officer is ten years younger than the first, blonde and nearly as lean as Beef Jerky. The pair make their way towards you with a brisk stride.

"Officer Colfield." The older officer barks as a form of identification. "Officer Gamboa." He refers to the second officer with a jerk of his head. His eyes continually scan you.

They rest on Edward's coat for a moment then tick over to take in Dave's considerable size.

"I take it you are the witnesses. We'll need to see some identification."

The thin officer remains standing by the front door, looking keen on preventing any one from looting Slurpees in the absence of the clerk.

He looked at Dave and nodded "Yep, though at least you Aint a Yooper"He said with a shake of his head "Those people scare me"He muttered as he looked at the big man"You ever been up past Bay City?" He asked curiously

He looked up at Georgie walked in and tilted his head"Feeling anybetter miss?"

He looked at the officers and fishes out his Military ID, handing it to the man he nodded"Yes officer I am"HE said simply. As he put the wallet away they would see the card that said he was likely carrying a weapon on him.

"don't ask me." she would look at the new guy. "he had to explain some things to me to.." she would nod her head. She was still kind of wondering what the hell happened to that cleark. She'd try to find out later on when she was home and around her computer and alone. She could find information that no one else could find. If she cdouldn't find it..she knew someone that could most likely. MIT was a great school and she had people she knew there.

"oh good cops are here..I can get out of here eventually." She would look at the cops themselves. "we saw what happened..I.." she fiddled around her for her ID nervously. "here." she would hand it to the officers.

She looked at Edward."yea..I fee peachy." she would smirked."i think Im gonna stay next to you..you seem like you know stuff..and I as you can see am not good with people."

"I came here from Boston, pal," the giant answers, a model of restraint now that the cops are here. "So I'd talk that local mess to somebody else." He stares down at where the clerk and the EMTs had been. "Seems like I can't go anyplace without strange shit happening."

Officer Colfield is the one who steps forward to check IDs, matching each face with an expression as though he had smelled something sour. Officer Gamboa remains a few steps away, blocking the door.

"You have a weapon on you to go with that purdy lil' piece of paper?" He barks at Edward. "Any particular reason you got that permit? Got some urge to be shooting at the fine townsfolk of Detroit?"

Edward looked at the officer "Are you here to bust my chops or ae you here to find out what happened?" He asked his eyes narrowing "I have this permit legally and if you wish to know yeah I'm packing"He said simply "I have seen so much shit both at home and over seas not to go around prepared for the worst case senario" He said simply "So OFFICER"HE said making the word sound like it was less than shit "If you are done can we get on with it so I can go back to my own life?"

The officer's eyes narrowed in turn.

"Sir, I'm going to have to take you down to the station." The officer drawled. "Why don't you step over to my partner and show him that you aren't carrying that piece around loaded and he'll escort you to the cruiser."

The officer stepped away from Edward, looking towards Georgie. "Step forward, Miss." He said in the same flat tone he'd used with Edward. "I'm going to need to ask you some questions. I need you to be completely candid with me. I have no trouble taking you downtown with that gentleman."

She had no problem responding to the officers request as she just wanted to get out of here and back into her nice same home with her computers and machines. Computers and machines never gave her as much problems as people did. They always did what one asked them to do as long as you know how to ask them. Often times when going to school she laughed at people who kept mesisng up on simple things that anyone could do if they knew how to do it or what to ask a computer todo for them. Computers had their own language much like people did. You just had to know what that language was and how not to get them pissed off at you.

She looked at the things that officer gave her..and shook her head."no..but I wouldn't mind helping out with anything..I just wanna get home..as much as I would 'love' spending a night downtown or something I have my own life and a job that I like and I can make my own hours for." she would roll her eyes some "I don't go around causing trouble for anyone..its not really my style and I'd already mentioned I can help if I was needed to." she shrugges. She seems like the very shy type of person as you start out talking to her, somewhat edgy but thats because she wanted to be inside her own home..her apartment she had here for while she was staying.

"anything else needed of me or can I go?" of course later on she'd probably help Edward out in return for just sticking with her earlier but they both weren't needed downtown as she wouldn't be able to help him that way.

"I'll be collecting my friend later on..ok?" she would nod her head.

The blonde officer stepped forward escorting Edward to wait in the patrol car. The officer motioned to see Edward's weapon. Once he inspected it he returned it to Edward and motioned for Edward to sit in the back of the car. No mention of hand cuffs were brought up.

With Georgie, the senior officer completed his questioning of her.

"You don't know them?" The officer nodded. "All right. He'll be able to call you when our interview is over. Thank you for your help, you are free to go."

The officer stepped towards Dave, opening his citation pad. "Sir, I have photos for you to look at..."

He narrowed his eyes at the arrogant prick as he walked over to his partner. HE spoke the the other man "Explain to me why I have to go down town? Unless I am being aressted then no I'm not going down town" He said "Unless your pressing charges on somethingI'm walking right now"HE said simply "You have nothing to hold me on since all my papers are in order" The gun would indeed be loaded since nothing in the chamber though.

Georgie would blink and shake her head. She just wanted to get out of there for now.

"thanks . you got my number and my e-mail..its best to get a hold of me via e-mail. I never anwer my phone..just being honest. " now she would remember who was on the 3 pictures and why she wanted to get out of there so quick is she could try to do a serch of the girls that were on the pictures. She was good at that pulling up information.

She frowned though not that she wanted to stpe in but she would look at Edward. "if you give me some information i can get you some help if they keep at it.." she'd done security profiling for her job for a lawyer. Not that it meant the lawyer would come to her aid but she was going to give him a call. "se ya." she moved to her Hummer. It was neon blue and it was her baby. The licences plate had Skynet on the back of it as a vanity plate. She'd had it since she first got her jobs and foiund out she could get enough money for it.

[22:42:52] Seryna : "Let me see your ID again." The younger cop demanded, his attempt

at being professional expiring. He made a note of recording Edwards' information,

glancing at Edward as he did so. You get the feeling that if you looked the least bit

suspicious tonight, they would have found a reason to take you down town. As it was,

he walked back to his car and began typing in something in his keyboard. One could

assume he was running every ones' names for warrants or rap sheets. After a few

moments, he did not re - emerge from the car. The senior cop remained in the store,

questioning Dave. [your turn]

[22:45:42] Lokarryn : He passed him his Michigan Drivers Liscence. "HEre"HE said

muttering as he crossed his arms looking around the area. He around keeping an eyes on

the area. He glanced into the car wondering what was going on and taking so long. He

was getting nervous wondering if they were trying to set him up for something

[22:47:40] Nikkigirl1408 : Georgie most likely was getting to the getting into her

vhecial and starting it up. She wanted to get a good eye on what was going on with her

buddy. She owed him one honestly for being in the building with a freaked out blue

haired techie grad. Besides she was giving the cops their time to get her information

and see if they wanted to use her for help.
[22:49:07] Seryna : The young cop remained in the vehicle, ignoring the young woman in

her blue hummer. He seemed to be watching the store, where his partner remained with

Dave and edward. Edward would have had his ID returned to him before the cop headed to

his car.


He frowned wondering what was going on as he looked around. He moved to his truck to

wait. He was suspicious by nature after his tour in Iraq and working with the Spooks

They had tried to hang him out to dry more than once.

[22:52:45] Nikkigirl1408 : She would stay in her hummer though not starting. She would

reach over into the back and get her laptop out and pull it open and start it. She

would get onto her messenger to contact her buddy from MIT to see if they could pull

up some information on those three girls that were on the photos. She made the motions

of going to leave starting her hummer and such but instead she was doing homework in a

manner of speaking. She was googling up those girls to see what all she could find on

them if anything important.

Dave stops slurping on his drink and offers the cop a placating look. "Hey, look, I've

been here like two minutes. I saw nothing."

[22:59:17] Seryna : "That may be so, sir, but we have an ongoing investigation. "Do

you know any of these people?" He asks, holding them up to you. You notice that they

are the Driver's License photos of three young women. "Ariana Cable, Karin Kellandale,

Ashley Merriman?"
[23:03:15] @ Dean : "Nope. Never." Dave answers, having barely glanced at the photos.

"I'm not even from 'round here."


: "All right, then you have a good night, sir." The senior officer days with zero

sincerity in his voice, eying Dave up and down. As he moves to the patrol car, he

makes a point of staring at Edward as he passes him. Once in thier vehicle, the patrol

car heads east.
[23:07:06] Lokarryn : He frowned and shook his head. He would have to make some calls

and get some info on thesenior officer. He would walk over to the Hummer and tap on

the window trying to get the womans attention. He wasnted to know if she got the dicks

name or badge number so he could run it by some of his friends in higher places.

[23:07:56] @ Dean : Dave's heavy shoulders sagged with relief. Cops unsettled him. He

finishes his drink noisily.

[23:09:25] Nikkigirl1408 : She jumped "HOLY batshit batman" she would put her hand

over her heart and rolled down the window. "son of a bitch. thanks for just about

giving me a heart attack." She would curse closing all of her laptop window and glare

at Edward."can I help you?"

[23:12:03] Lokarryn : He titled his head "Sorry"He said as he looked at her "Did you

get that cops name or badge number by chance?"He asked her as he glanced at dave

looking the man up and down. This one was someone he didn't want to toy with if he

didn't need to. "Also "HE said "You have any idea what is going on I mean this whole

situation is FUBARed.

[23:14:12] Seryna : As Georgie ran a check on the girls, she doesn't hit upon any

thing of note. An interesting news story relating to the night does pop up- a woman

who, upon being admitted to the hospital, was found to be missing her liver...
[23:17:16] Nikkigirl1408 : She would sigh still glaring at Edward."shit..fuck me. Give

my heart a second to stop pounding and my head a chance to think "Um not off the top

of my head..for the cops name. As for whats going on. The only thing I was able to

find in the few breif moments i had my laptop running was some girl who was missing a

liver."she would frown."it doenas't seem normal. I can check into it further..but not

here."
[23:20:37] Lokarryn : He nodded "Where?"He asked not wanting to look a gift horse in

the mouth at the moment. If this girl could give him the information he needed and

give him a place to start looking then he would use it in any way he could. "I'll

follow you in my truck" HE moved to get into the old Chevy truck that looked like it

had seen better days. HE glanced at Dave and frowned."Hmm What do we do with the

gentle Giant...?"

[23:22:48] Seryna : Dave notices a thin Black girl with dark hair in braids wearing a

dark Hoodie and jeans watching Edward and Georgie with interest. She appears to be in

her late teens. Her unnaturally thin hand is clutching a small platic vial with some

odd, rose colored liquid within it. [Edward & Georgie do not notice her]

[23:24:24] Nikkigirl1408 : She would frown."awesome. Your the first dude to come to my

home since graduation and I moved out here." she would smirk. "hope you can keep up

and I don't get pulled over agani for speeding." she would likely live in an apartment

complex near the 7 11. "here's the room number. 5701 follow me. Shadow Gardens is the

complex." she smiled a little.

[23:25:25] @ Dean : The gentle giant crack grates on Dave. Before he can rebuke it, he

sees the girl. His eyes widen and then narrow, and he drops his cup and stalks closer

to her. That was not normal.

[23:27:44] Seryna : The Black girl is so intent upon watching the man and the woman in

the Hummer that she does not appear to notice Dave's interest in her. He is able to

approach her unseen.

[23:30:27] @ Dean : Dave peers closely at the vial, keeping mind of his surroundings.

If things were crowded there was little he could do.

[23:31:35] Seryna : The girl pauses a mere five feet from the blue Hummer. She lifts

the rose vial to her lips and drinks the brew down. When she opens her eyes, there

sees to be a sheen to them that vanishes when she bliks. She studies the two people

before her. She remains motionless.

[23:31:49] Seryna : [Loky, that roll was for Dave. I'll let you know when to roll]

[23:34:26] @ Dean : Dave closes the distance as quietly as he can. "Hey, girl. What

the fuck are you doing?" he hisses. "Why are you watching those people?"

[23:34:31] Lokarryn : (just lurks then waiting )

[23:35:41] Seryna : The girl jumps away from Dave, appearing startled. The vial falls

to the ground, the plactic making a small noise and rolling underfoot. "I - I was just

checking." She stammered.

[23:36:08] Seryna : [Loky & Nikki, your char actions?)

[23:36:31] Lokarryn : (Depends on if he heard the nose or not)

[23:37:05] Lokarryn : (Noise i mean)

[23:37:14] Seryna : [yes, this is occuring 4 feet from you]

[23:39:12] Lokarryn : Upon hearing the noise his hand would go under his code to his

pistol and he would turn around towards the source of the noise. He was on edge once

agin as he saw Dave lean down and pick up the vial. He would then turn to the pale

girl his eyes narrowing as he slowly approached his hand still under the coat.


[23:39:43] Seryna : "WHy are you sniffing that?" The girl wondered, eying Dave with an

odd expression. "What do you think it is?"

[23:41:18] Nikkigirl1408 : She frowned as his hand would go under his coat for his

pistol "oh hell." she would swallow. "ok I think I'm gonna lock my doors and curl up

under the back seat hoping no one finds me and tries to kill me." Things had been odd

for her lately with a few things that she'd seen and thus was making her more phobic

to even be outside then normal. She didn't know what her buddy Edward was doing

either.
[23:42:01] Seryna : {does she actually say that Nikki?]

[23:42:05] @ Dean : "None of your fucking business," Dave answers, his low voice

raising an indignant octave. "None of this is any of your business. What are you 'just

checking?'

[23:42:37] Nikkigirl1408 : [yes more to herself but Edward could likely say that. She

doesn't think it or anything if that's what your asking.]

[23:43:26] Seryna : "There's some fucked up stuff going on. People losing organs...

dying for no reason. I thought they-" She indicated Edward and Georgie - "- might be

involved. I saw him show his gun to the police. I see that there's nothing wrong with

them now.."

[23:45:13] Lokarryn : He arches his eyes as Dave looses part of his gentleness but

says nothing letting the other man handle it. He listened intently wondering why this

girl was suddenly interested in them. He caught the comment about the people loosing

organs and frowned. He wanted to know more about that honestly but didn't speak yet.

[23:47:05] Nikkigirl1408 : She would frown and run her fingers through her blue hair.

She really diddn't do to great at some situations. She looked toward Edward from her

windows."what's going on exactly out there?" she was curious but she wasn't about to

get herself killed over something stubid. "sorry..paranoia. Its been a weird couple

months or two here." she swallowed looking out the Hummer window.

[23:48:26] @ Dean : "What's all in this?" Dave asked, gruffly. Holding the vial up to

his eye.

[23:50:16] Seryna : The girl frowns at the vial, her expression flittering fro curious

to dread. "It- it helps one with clarity. An herbal aid. It's not illegal." She says

hastily. "Like I said, I just thought he looked suspicious. I didn't mean anything by

it.." The girl is getting increasingly nervous.

asked Dave. HE was curious now as he kept his hand on his gun. He wasn't a very

trusting person honestly in most cases. The only reason he was remotely trusting the

blue haired girl was she had offered to help him with out need. He would keep himself

between the Hummer and the others

[23:55:26] Seryna : The girl is telling the truth as far as Dave can tell. He does

note her anxiety rises when he refers to the vial of whatever she consumed.
[23:56:50] Nikkigirl1408 : She knew that he would hopefully keep himself between the hummer and herself in case anythiing happened. She'd seen enough of these movies to know how she could end up..as well as she'd said the last couple months had been even more odd with what happened on a job she did installing security and updating computer systems for a building "well this is turing pleassently more creepy."she mutteres.

[23:58:05] @ Dean : Dave turned around and began to speak "Look, I don't even know you... " He does an actual doubletake. "Are you fucking crazy? Put that thing away."

Edward removed his hand from under his jacket and watched the man talk to the young woman in queston as he wondered what the vial was. He scanned the area a bit almost as if he were expection something to jump out of the shadows at him.

"Look, I'm sorry - but Ana made it clear that I shouldn't be doing this anymore. I don't know why I did, now..." The woman backs away from the group.

"I'll just leave you alone. I'd like to be left alone, too." She adds, glancing over to Edward worriedly as she continues to back away.
As she moves into the shadow, you note another young woman steps out of the darkness. She ignores you and steps towards the odd young woman.

"What are you doing? Mary just left for the hospital. You won't be able to visit with Margot tonight."

She would be still in her car wondering if she should even remotely try to get out of the car."I'm gonna get turned into a zombie or a vampire or some movie shit like that." she was kind of still hiding so upon looking over to the blue hummer one would likely see no one in the drivers seat but she was hiding in the car curled up hoping this would all end and she would be able to continue her work for finding out about those woman that were on the ID cards.

She would peek up toward Edward. "look if things get messy always double tap. Its like a rule for making sure what your killing is dead."she looked a little freaked out.

[Is there a reason why Georgie would advise double tapping a supposedly normal girl?]

(ever seen the movie zombieland? LOL its rule number 2 always double tap. She watches a lot of movies. LOL and she's really kinda freaked out right now.)

"What was that?" The new girl stepped towards the van. "Who said that? Did someone just say 'when in doubt, double tap?" She gave Edward a scathing look before walking up to the passenger side of the Hummer.
After a minute, she peered inside and spotted Georgie curled up within.

"You the crack pot that just advised shooting my friend twice in the head? Get out here, sister."

Georgie would blink. "hey it was just a geek thing. I..." she didn't raelly fight. "you know you don't watch movies? Geeze. If you were also in my position wouldn't you be a little freaked out? I mean strange people approach you and you don't know what the hell...that they want or what they're trying to do. I'm also a fairly awkward person..and paranoid.." there was no way in hell she was getting ou tof that hummer. Not unless they forced her or something and luckly she was smart enough to always lock the doors. That was one of her weird rules.

"glad I listen to my own rules..always lock vhechial doors.." she would mutter.

"I don't think its funny advising murdering someone over a movie! Are you autistic, or something? Get out here." The woman insisted, angrily. She rapped on the window.

"Come out here and tell your joke to my friend- about how funny it would be to shoot her in the head. You have a gun or something?" She turned a suspicious eye on Edward.
"How about you? Do you shoot unarmed women on the street?"

" I'm more of a talk things out kind of person..not hitting and pain kind of person." she nodded her head not getting out of the car. She opened it just slightly."you'll have to come in and get me by the way." she would try to go in and roll up the window again. [let me know if Ineed to do anything here or not.]

"just socially awkward. I was never good at parties more of an indoor person myself and you really need to learn what sarcasim is..I'd never really shoot a person unless they really were a zombie." she sighed a little. She'd likely go home and forget this night exsisted..At least that's what she hoped would be the outcome of this.

"Who said anything about hitting and violence?" The woman rolled her eyes. "Who said anything about violence? You just mouth off to strangers, accuse others of being misfits and hide in your car?"

She shook her head, looking over to her friend. "Do you believe this chick?"
"Maybe she's-" The woman murmurs something quietly that you can't hear.
The angry woman glanced at Geogie and dismissed whatever the friend had said.

"I doubt it. She's too unstable. Get some help, okay sweetie?" She said sarcastically. "And watch who you advise murdering and call violent criminals. This is a public street, we have every right to be here."

The two women throw the three of you angry looks as they turn and walk away from you.

He looked at the woman "No as a rule no"He said looking at her "But do you always just appear out of a dark alleyway after a woman is hauled away in an ambulance? I mean your friend here was looking at the three of us rather strangely almost as if she was spying on the three of us" He said ismply not batting an eye at the woman screaming at him. He shook his head "As for weather I have a gun is that any of your concern "He shook his head muttering under his breath as he turned to walk away.

"yes ma'mm. " She said with a little sarcasim. she was meaning to actually talk to a shrink. "have a good night." some people just didn't get sarcasim these days. As for her all she wanted to do right now was go home and forget this happened. She was waiting for Edward though as she was going to lead him so that she could get them both some needed information on just some of the things that were starting to happen.

"edward.I gave you my address..just meet me there..I...wanna go home ok? I don't like confortations with strange woman..i got that shit enough through high school..Mit was such a cooler enviroment then all this..no drama..and...well yea. " wit hthat she would go to start her car..thinking what else could go wrong.
