As Sara spoke, Sara and Liam's eyes were attracted to movement behind the three men moving in their direction. The sound of the car door opening can now be attributed to the black van that is idling a mere six feet away. An arm - clad in long black sleeves - holds the van door open. You have a very bad feeling about someone watching the imminent violence with apparent apathy for your safety.

Sara finds herself facing two of the attackers. The shocking lack of chivalry demonstrates the unsettling fact that they may have sized her up as the more troublesome opponent. The compliment was short lived as the first man - a Caucasian man about 5'10'' with a trim yet muscular build reached her first. He struck out a fist, intending a body blow.

Sara's awareness of his approach allowed her to side step his attack. The man brushed by her as she angled her body away from his.

A flash of retreating sunlight glinted off of a blade in the second man's possession as he moved in on Sara. He made a slash towards her arm that went wide. This man - slightly shorter with close cropped black hair and a haggard, pale face - made an expression of anger at Sara's athletic ability.

Beside Sara, Liam had managed to pull out his illegal firearm. He lifted it up to be met by a man about 5'11' with scraggly brown hair who rushed at him with eagerness for a brawl.

The assailant caught Liam with a clenched fist to his abdomen. The man whooped loudly and drew back, preparing for another blow. Liam had a hold on his pistol, still...

Sara's eyes narrowed as she glared at the men - what the fuck did they think they were doing? They were going to try and kick the shit out of her? She assumed that they didn't know her already, but it was still a little bit insulting. Adrenaline pumped through Sara, and her fists clenched tightly - one around her knife. She itched to punch them, to drive a knee up into their guts, to make them bleed.

She ignored how Liam was faring, unwilling to let anyone throw her concentration. She moved forward quickly, bringing the knife up to slash rapidly across the chest of the guy who had attacked her with the knife. With a quick movement, she flipped the grip to bring it down in a secondary movement, a vicious stab.

Liam grimaced at the blow. He glared and fired at the strange, scraggly man attacking him with his illegal firearm.

Sara's training finds her blade slicing across the chest of her attacker. She sees the black shirt split open, but the loose fabric hides if she's drawn blood. The second attack, however, feels right. There's the satisfying feel as the knife finds purchase of her knife wielding attacker.

To her left, Liam takes a step back as the recoil from the pistol jerks his arm upwards. The sound is incredibly loud - perhaps startling Sara and the others. It takes Liam a minute to focus on his attacker - whom he finds sprawled on ground, face down. A pool of blood is slowly forming underneath his torso.

As Sara's attention is on the man wielding the knife. her peripheral vision senses an approaching figure. As she turns towards the threat, a clenched fist slams into her abdomen. She gasps for breath for a moment, recognizing the man as the one who had failed to touch her before.

Sara felt immediate, grim satisfaction as she felt the knife slice the second man and she started to turn back to the first man. She didn't want to have a nasty surprise of being jumped by someone she just hoped was down. But the punch from the other guy left her winded, the air savagely leaving her for a good few seconds. Her abdominal muscles tensed, as the pain reverberated through her body but Sara shook it off. She had been through worse, and a simpleton hotshot wasn't going to keep her down.

She sidestepped, in case he tried to swing again; and moved fast and low to slash and stab with the knife in retaliation.

Liam winced at the sight of David being shot. He then took a deep breath and fired a shot a Jim.

Sara's feeling of accomplishment is fleeting as she sees the wounded man glare up at her through narrowed eyes. His fist flashes out, catching her with an uppercut to the jaw. Sara sees stares for a moment, even as her attacker bends back over, his hand gingerly cradling his side.

Liam recovers from his first grim success and levels a shot at the second attacker. The gun jumps upwards and the man lurches back a step. Liam can't see the shot, but the man doubles over.

From the ground, the limp man emits a moan. Its intermingled with pain and a peal of confusion.
As Liam stared down at the man he'd managed to shoot quite soundly, a the air in his lungs explodes out of his lips. He looks down to see the beefy hand of the second man retract. His ribs feel as though they are on fire.

Raising his eyes, he now sees the blood running down the man's *other* arm.

A mere fifteen feet away, Chris and the two waitresses hear the gun shot from the parking lot.

Sam Prescott (5/13/2011 12:47:21 PM): Oh for God's sake... Sara groaned internally, and the splurge of pain in her abdomen doubled up unpleasantly. He got a couple of lucky assed shots, but that was all and Sara was thoroughly pissed. He was injured too, and now he was going to wish he hadn't started a fight he couldn't freaking finish. She moved forward while he dealth with his own injuries, going for the same slash and stab.

The man that Sara just stabbed steps back, evaluating the blood on his hand for a short second. He gives his accomplice on the ground an evaluating look. There is no trace of compassion there; no reaction to the man's earlier moan. With the flat look akin to a shark's, he flashes a quick hand signal to the second man still on his feet.

Sara gets a brief feeling of deja vu- it looked like a hand signal one would use in the field.

The man gets the message.

The man bearing Sara's knife wounds executes an about face and flee towards the van. The van is already moving, angling towards the parking lot exit. The second man who was signalled moves quickly towards Liam.
Liam feels a fleeting gasp of surprise as instead of striking Liam again, the man bends as he approaches Liam, grabbing Liam's free wrist and pulling Liam across his shoulders.

To the average person, it would seem that the man is attempting to hoist Liam into a fireman's carry to carry him off...

The man bearing most of Sara's attention stumbles and the black clad arm reaches down and gruffly cups the man's arm and hauls him roughly into the van.

When he hears the gunshot, Chris immediately cringes. He walks across to the parking lot. He looks for a piece of cover to hide behind as he does his best to get a good look at what is going on.

Sara realizes she can't throw her knife to target the smaller man without hitting Liam as well. She moves forward - more because she really wanted to kick the shit out of the guy who'd hit her, than for any valiant reasons.

As Chris crouches behind a short flight of stairs leading to another business, he watches a large, red headed man be lifted off of his feet. In a feat of strength, the man carries the second man towards the van which halts for a minute at the entrance to the street. A fit woman wielding a nasty looking knife follows after the two for a few feet, her eyes scanning for an opening. The strong man heaves - ho and dumps Liam unceremoniously into the interior of the black van. As Liam attempts to sit up, someone kneels across his chest, momentarily pinning him. With a backwards look- a somewhat smug look, Sara decides- the attacker vaults in after Liam as the van once lurches into the street.
