White lines

Amber leaned over her compact and inhaled a line of cocaine. It was a little too early in the night for hard drugs she thought to her self. She stared at her image in the bathroom mirror and began to apply her red makeup as if snorting coke was just another part of her everyday ritual. She walked through her apartment and turned on the stereo and the tv, the two things didn't sync at all, she just wanted the noise. Amber strode to a room which took on the function of a closet. She was nude, not the body to die for, but her confidence impressed most men or intimidated them to keep her at a distance. She reached for a lighter on a dresser and a roach in the ashtray. Amber lit up, sat in a chair in the middle of the room, and just mused over the insane amount of clothing options she had. Through the haze of smoke she nodded her head as if forgetting how good her shit was. Amber had no idea just how long she was sitting in that room, she thought it was about 5 but after taking her I phone out of the dock she realized it was closer to 8. She smiled and casually lined up a shot of her nude vagina. With a chuckle she emailed the pic to one of her friends in her ethics 101 class. She thought it was the funniest shit in the world at the moment, but probably would regret it when she came down a bit. Amber reached in her dress rack and pulled a little black dress, deciding that she wanted to go out, but damn it was early, she hated when she woke up this early. She needed a man... not dick, sex was sort of whatever to her anyways, she needed to find a vamp and drain the shit out of him, a nice smooth high.

It was early, far too early for the usual habits and events that she liked. The clubs would at least be open, but who wanted to be in line with the ones who knew they wouldn't be getting in, no matter how early they showed up?

Best to focus on what she needed, right? It was early for those damn blood suckers, too. Likely they were just rousing themselves from whatever hellhole they crawled into last night. Should she go out and try to line one up?

Or would it be fun to make a night of it, call one of her twisted sisters at the club for some company?

Amber took a moment to ponder her options, she was way too wired to sleep and sitting in the house would have just bored her to death. She looked through her picture on her I phone for no reason in particular, then noticed one that caught her attention. When was the last time she called these bitches up. Amber dialed the number of one of her friends to see who was doing what tonight. She wanted vitae more then anything, but she knew that you couldn't just kill vampers without some kind of cell, so it was the night life for her until her next fix was locked down.

Dialing up Rebecca- one of the vapid, mentally sporadic friends- Amber heard that Rebecca was at the club. Turns out some of the guys were talking about a Hunt. A supernatural Hunt, or something. The hunter guys were hot as hell, all dolled up with weapons and shit. Where was she, Amber, when the club was where it was at?

Amber picked up her purse. She put her handgun inside, along with a knife so serrated a Kligon would be proud. Of course she put her coke in their and herione enough to get her locked up tight in jail. She decided that she was going to the club, silly dame should have known not to go drinking without her. Amber hopped into her bmw which housed more then a few dents from reckless driving. As soon as she hit the road she texted Rebecca telling her she better not be drinking without her. In the meanwhile, she texted a few more people telling them to pop up at the club she was going to, women were not supposed to be drinking alone unless they wanted a stiff dick in them.

When Amber arrived, she found Rebecca immediately. "Come on!"

Rebecca grinned, hauling Amber within the club. "I thin all these guys are from our club. They all seem pretty crazy. This one guy has vampire teeth that he claims detects vampires- I thought he might interest you. He's not really hot, but its not too terrible."

Amber smiled at Rebecca giving her a sexy hug, more for show then sexual gratification. She walks into the club following her girlfriend in. "Alright lets meet them, don't call me by my real name... humph... call me Jeanie Tripplehorn if you call me anything", Amber said with a completely straight face.

"I am not calling you by that surname. Seriously? Come on, Jeanie... don't be such a stiff. Are you drying out or something?" The other woman teased, drawing her further into the room.

"Just making sure you could hold your shit, and wasn't fucking up", Amber said making sure Rebecca wasn't too coked out to remember hunter 101. Amber danced a little bit following along. She stuck her tongue out at Becca for no reason in particular and cupped her ass, she wasn't really a lezzie at all, but she couldn't resist keeping people on their toes.

Rebecca leads Ambder on, stopping as they head upstairs. Glancing around, Amber can see about five guys drinking at a fairly steady pace. This part of the club is fairly private and intimate, only the seven of you and a waitress distributing more drinks.

"So, that guy-" Rebecca nosd discreetly towards a tall, black clad man. "-says he's going hunting tonight. Trying to figure out if hes for real, or what."

"Oh, so he just said he's a hunter and you're down with it, who does he know? He could be anybody, what's his in?", Amber whispers to Rebecca. Being trained in a hunter family even without a hunters discipline tended to produce some measure of paranoia. Amber takes out her iphone casually as if sending a text but covertly looked to see if this "guy" cast a clear reflection. "So guy... buy me a drink", Amber said playfully, yet seriously, to the man who's supposed to be a so called hunter.

"I don't know, I just met him." Rebecca replies, drink in hand. "You Nancy Drew it."

The 'guy' clearly cast a reflection. At Amber's words, he glanced at Amber before signaling the waitress. "Another for me and whatever the lady likes. So- you're a friend of Becca's?"

"Yeah, sometimes", she says as if nothing really matters to her. "You somebody I should know?", Amber says while sitting down in any available chair. Amber was keen on finding other hunters that she hadn't pissed off or gotten in trouble yet, but she didn't really act as if it mattered.

"I dunno." The man replied non comitally, checking his watch. "Its about time for me to be heading out. Still need to go pic up Cody from whatever hole he's crawled into this time."

Amber waved at whoever his name with no real reaction. She looked around for her drink as if it was more important then him at the moment. "I'm getting shitfaced tonight", Amber said to Becca.

"Bye ladies." The man announced, gesturing. "Another round for every one!"

He heads to the front to pay and turns to leave. Now that he's out of earshot, the waitress shakes her head.
"You're better off for not going with him. He must be real good, because a chick goes with him, we don't see her again. Maybe we see her later, set up all straight laced, stiff and proper. You wouldn't want that, would you honey?"

She hands you another drink.

Amber takes the drink and puts it down somewhere. After hearing that little comment she decides not to drink it. "Oh really? What's the assholes name you know any of the chicks he banged?", Amber says while crossing her legs. Not much of a conversationalist Amber usually just gets to the point quick taking the mystery out of back and forth banter.

"Well, the last one was Rose. She used to work here but she up and quit, walked out with him. Before that, it was Tara. She was a real sweet thing, too. Used to get guys spending money to take her home." The waitress reflects.

"Ok Rose, I can work with that, what's her last name", Amber said straightforwardly.

"Uh..." The waitress rolls her eyes back, trying to recollect. "Clofield. You know her, love?"

"Yeah, I did actually", Amber says slipping into a lie seamlessly, "Lost touch with her a little while back, do you have her phone number so we can reconnect?".

"It would be back in the office." The waitress replied. "I won't be able to get back there till Dave comes in at night. But I can go in and get it for you then. You got a number I can reach you at?"

Amber thinks for a moment and looks at the waitress, something wasn't right about this one, as far as she knew this entire bar was under the control of some supernatural creature. She wasn't leaving her number floating out there for any tom, dick, or vampire to know, fuck that. "Nah, I'll probably just get it later" Amber said. "Let's get out of here and hit another bar", Amber said to Becca as if there were just too many things wrong about this place, until she figured them out she wasn't getting shitfaced here.

"All right, sugar." The waitress replied, busing the table calmly. As you watch the waitress, you decide that she was being genuinely honest about her recollections. She seemed to be genuinely worried when she had mentioned the two young women.

Becca shrugged, grabbing her clutch. "O.K. Getting late enough that the clubs might be opening. I hear Cherub has a free cover tonight."
