The Tap Room ((August 2009))((Second half))
The Tap Room
The password to enter changes weekly. But the effort to enter is well worth it. Besides the expected alcoholic fare, The Tap Room features a special menu of exotic blood from rare animals found around the world, as well as several types of vitae and, on rare occasions, Wolf blood. The blood menu must be requested discreetly.
The decor is simple and seemingly from antiquity. Cement and brick walls, unfinished wooden bar stools and a raw, decrepit, wooden floor with peanut shells and filth covering it from a near century of use. One goes for a good drink, decent company and possibly the ambiance, but certainly not for the decor.
What's different Tonight - Their are more of the high up people than normal, wearing suits and ties, the management seems to want kindred on there best behavior. In a cage there is a Kimono Dragon sitting there off to the side
(( Who's their of note - Faustina Macellarius))

Re: The Tap Room ((August 2009))((Second half))
"After the Baron leaves for his meeting, unlock Anneliese's door, give her the keys to her BMW and do not tell the Baron she has left for the evening. When she arrives back home in the early morning, take the keys and hide them back in their spot, then lock her back into her room. If he asks why the car was driven while he was away, tell him you drove it."
Anneliese smiles to herself as she's led by the servant drone back to her room after being allowed to feed. At about 11pm, she hears His Excellency leaving, presumably for his meeting. And like dominoes, everything starts falling into place. The servant she had spoken to earlier shows up at her door and punches in the code, then hands her the keys to her car, ushering her safely out to the garage. Hesitating for just a moment, Anneliese waits to put the keys in the ignition as the garage door pulls open, revealing the inky black night outside. What if Alaric had forgotten something and suddenly needed to return?
But he didn't.
She starts the car and rolls the car slowly out the driveway and to her freedom.
Yes!
First stop: The Tap Room.
Since her computer and phone had been taken away, she had no idea what the password was this week to get in. She also had no way to get in touch with Neil to let him know she was out and could see him finally. She missed him so much. As she thought of the blond man that had become her best friend in this god-forsaken city, she thought on him rather fondly and wished he'd made more of an effort to contact her over the last couple of days. Well, maybe he had and the Baron just wasn't letting her know. Asshole.
She let her foot become heavier on the throttle and felt the back end start to slip out behind as she cornered through the intersection much too fast for the car to handle. But it gripped enough to stay out of the oncoming traffic and she managed to make it to the Tap Room building.
Once parked, Anneliese looked for someone she could convince into sharing the password with her. It actually worked out easily as she ended up scooting in with a larger group of young adults that confidently gave it to the humourless man standing at the door.
Inside, there is no sign of Neil. She's crushed, half hoping he'd magically be here. She chooses a table and sits it out a bit, not sure what to do next.

Emir Mansur, Baron of Greektown, sits next to stern-looking Kindred with grey in his hair and a thin, aquiline nose. They speak heatedly in a language you don't recognise, sitting over papers.

Re: The Tap Room ((August 2009))((Second half))
Shit.
Anneliese attempts to discreetly rise and move tables to sit far behind Mansur, with his back turned to her. She's met him once, accompanying her Sire on a rather uncomfortable business meeting to Emir Mansur's offices, and she cannot afford to have him recognize her here. But walking out will be too obvious.
Nervously, she waits for the Baron to finish his business and leave. She keeps her face turned to the wall and tries to appear as if she's studying an old poster that has been tacked to the crumbling wall for some time.
This was a stupid idea. What was I thinking. Shouldn't Neil be back from whatever he had to do by now? It's been over a week.

Re: The Tap Room ((August 2009))((Second half))
After a few moments, Anneliese hears the scuffle of paper, then the sound of it being shredded. Mansur raises his voice in an East-European sounding dialect. You see the grey-haired man wear a smug smirk as the apparently vanquished Mansur leaves his seat, storming over to a faraway table occupied by a regal looking statesman Anneliese doesn't recognise. He mutters turkish curses. The regal stranger provides a silken hankerchief to Mansur, into which the Baron spits a gobbet of blood, crumpling the fabric up before handing back to the stranger.
Mansur and his companion remain at a safe distance, locked in conversation, while the grey-haired man Mansur had argued with seems relaxed. Now that you're able to pay more attention, the grey-haired man doesn't seem to be kindred at all. He even breathes, at a strange, ragged pace. A large blonde kindred, dressed for the evening, scrutinises the man from an adjacent table, his eyes wandering about the tap room with purpose. The grey-haired man reads from the Detroit News for a time, then discards the paper, trading it for a copy of the Free Press. You notice that he has tomorrows edition in his hands.

Re: The Tap Room ((August 2009))((Second half))
- Spoiler:
Anneliese watches the exchange in utter confusion and fear, but could make absolutely no sense out of any of it. This had been such a bad idea. What had she been thinking? Leaving her Sire's home after all the warnings? All the lectures and all the punishment? She was such a fucking idiot. Daddy's little idiot, she thought grimly. All she wanted to do now was get out before something really bad happened and she was spotted and accused of bearing witness. And get herself safely home.
She brings her hoodie up over her head, rises with an animal's grace and slowly but with much purpose makes a straight line to the closest exit, praying she will not be noticed or stopped.

A few heads turn as you leave, although it isn't you who has earned their scrutiny. The Eupraxus brat wanders in like a lamb into a lions den. A smile of recognition creeps across his mouth as he sees your face. A tall, thin woman with a white veil over her face strides past the two of you and takes a seat. She begins to check a PDA.

"Uhhhh..." Anneliese runs into Master Oscar as she tries to slip out of the bar. She considers walking past him as if she doesn't recognize the little lord brat, but is afraid he'll call out her name in his annoying, whiny little voice and call attention to her presence there if she ignores him.
"Good Evening Master Oscar. I was just leaving -- nothing much going on in here." She keeps her back to the tables where the Greek and his partners are sitting, and whispers her greeting to Oscar, hoping he'll mimic her sound level and keep the conversation minimal.

Oscar's voice is lowered in mockery down to the sort of loud whisper which doesn't so much make his speech a little more inconspicuous and a lot more breath, which seems odd, given his condition. He grins a little at your outfit.
"Nothing's going on in here? Nothing at all?"

Not at all amused by his mocking of her speech and outfit, Anneliese tries to hurry the Eupraxus scion along without tipping him off to anything that could potentially give him an upper hand over her.
"Not anything that I'm interested in anyway. BORING. Just going to take off. Have a nice rest of your evening."

The Eupraxus crosses his arms and looks about the Tap Room and then back at you. He begins to snigger, clearly enjoying your discomfort.
"Well you're hardly an authority on what's interesting. Look at how you dress. Im getting bored just looking at you. What is going on?"

"OSCAR!" She sneers his given name with all the disdain and venom she can. "Listen to me you little worm: keep your voice down and your comments to yourself, you got it?"
Now her voice was rising in anger and people in the bar were beginning to turn to look. Exactly what she didn't need. "Goddamn you!" She grabs him deftly by the throat and hauls him into a booth on the opposite end of the room from where Emur sat. Or, where she hoped he still sat. She hadn't the courage to look again yet.
"I need to be getting home now, but I need you not to create a scene here. Can you do this 'one' decent thing? Just once in your miserable little life?"

Oscar shuffles into Anneliese's path and wipes the grin from his face.
"Wait. What's that supposed to mean? Why would I create a scene? That's what you do. Not me."

"Fine. I've got to go."
She stands and makes for the door, trying to make sure the Greek doesn't see her leave, praying Oscar won't shout out her name.
