Bucky's Apartment

Bucky had left the convenience store, his cigarettes in hand. Now as he wondered after what he should do with the night, he hears the quiet sounds of his nieghbors moving along the far wall where another small apartment is adjoined.

He assumes that they are a man and woman from the tone of voice, but the walls are too thick to eavesdrop. At least there is some measure of privacy.

As Bucky glances around his apartment, he notices an ad in the newspaper that he hadn't seen before.
The ad reads in big black letters:

"Are you searching for a way to hold back the shadows? Are you seeking a way to cure the darkness of your soul, and prolong your life? Are you seeking aid, while willing to put your own freetime on the line?
Call 1-313-629 7612"

Picking up the ad Bucky scanned it over and scratched his chin. It was interesting at least and to be honest alot of what it said sounded really familiar. Ever since his parents had died things had changed in his life. He had become withdrawn and his outlook on life had slid partially into the negative. Now to say he had become some emotional wreck would be a bit of an overstatement.but still. Picking up the phone he started to dial the number. If anything he'd at least he'd get a good laugh out of it.

A few signals fall through, after which Gary picks up his phone. "Gary's independent outlook, how can I help you?" he proclaims with a serious and appeasing tone.

swallowing nervously Bucky had seriously begun to regret making the call. having no idea what to say as the voice picked up and answered. Still... Bucky had always been raised not to hang up on someone. That and well, who knew what would come out of it.

And in his deep southern accent cleared his throat and finally spoke up awkwardly
". Um...Hi this is Bucky Cooper-Stone and um...I found yer ad and well...I'm. I wanted to know a little more about yer company you got there. I. I'm not sure what you do but I felt the need to call."

The man on hte other end clears his throat.
"Hello Bucky. If you felt the need to call, you're halfway here already. I wouldn't call myself a company, since it's just me, but I offer my help to fight your inner and outer demons, and I helpt people push back the shadows. Are you interested?"

Bucky had thought back to the nightmares in the middle of the night. Waking up in a cold sweat and the flashbacks of Salem. The man had made it sound so promising with saying so little. pushing the bill of his cap down over his eyes he leaned against the wall next to the phone and sighed.

"I... I don't know. I mean....do ya really think ya can help me?

The man notices t´he shivering in Bucky's voice, but don't know how to place it.
"I can help a lot of people, but it depends on what kind of problems you have. Mind you though, I'm not a psychiatrist. I deal with problems off a slightly more... material nature."

Bucky sighed and figured it was time to tell someone what he was going through even if it did seem crazy. And if so he could always hang up. Taking a deep breath he started.

"I've been....having dreams about things that...don't seem so real. You know...those things you were told that don't exist. The only problem is my dreams are startin' to bleed out into real life and it's affecting me. It's been happenin' since my parents were killed 8 years ago back in Salem."

Rubbing his head through his cap he realized just how crazy that actually sounded.

The man listened patiently while Bucky spoke.

"Nightmares that turn out to be real? YOu know what? That seems exactly like what I deal with. I want to meet you. I think I can help you, and you can help me. Let's kick back the nightmares. Where do you live?"

Bucky gave him the directions to the apartment and looked around for a moment smacking the back of his head. the place was still kind of messy. Taking a deep breath he tried to calm his nerves.

"You...you actually believe me? you believe what I'm saying? I...Nobody's believed me before. Can you be here soon? I...I don't think I can wait to long to meet you cause I'm still thinkin' I gotta be completely whackadoo for believin' this stuff.

The man let's the man finish, and then waits a couple of seconds, to show that he is actually listening and is contemplating what Bucky said.
"I believe that you have started to see the world for what it really is. I see it too, and I am not alone in doing so. And neither are you. I will be over in 20 minutes. Oh, by the way. My name is Gary Goedken."

Bucky gave his thanks and let him know he'd be waiting for him before saying goodbye and hanging up. Looking around he started to clean up and get ready for him to show up. It wasn't that great of a place but it was his.

Approximately twentyfive minutes pass before the doorbell rings. When Bucky opens the door, there stands a man in his early thirties, waring a brown leather-jacket and a baseball-cap.
"Bucky, I take it? Gary. I've come to help"

After opening the door Bucky gave him a smile before stepping aside to let the man in. Bucky was a 5 foot 4 inch tall lanky 18 year old dressed in baggy goth pants with the straps and chains a rebel flag tee shirt with a dickies short sleeve work shirt over it and a blue and red baseball cap that covered his fiery red hair that was tied back in a pony tail.

Yeah...I'm Bucky. Thanks for coming. I..I'm kinda surprised someone actually believe me" Leading him into the sitting room he kind of blushed at the condition. the walls were covered in baseball caps his sword collection and posters of rock and country bands. A few pieces of second hand furniture took up the room and an old juke box sat in the corner.*

"My full name is Bucky-Kit Huckleberry Fynn Cooper stone the second but you can call me Bucky. It's good to finally meet someone who didn't call me nuts the second they heard what I had to say."

Gary looks around the appartment, as he takes off his baseball-cap, folds it, and puts in his inner jacket-pocket. As he opens his jacket slightly, the tip of a holster and pistol can be seen.

As he is led into the sitting room, he sits down and looks at Bucky.
"We've all been there. All of us has looked behind the veil and found what's really lurking out there. Tell me more of what kind of nightmares you have seen lately, and what your initial reaction to them are. Do you want to hide? Do you want to destroy?"

Bucky had tried not to eye the piece Gary had under his jacket but couldn't help but give it a bit of a study while he had the chance moment. Not that he was scared mind you. Bucky had been raised around guns and although mostly rifles and shotguns he had had his experience in hand guns as well.

Taking a seat across from the older man he took a moment to take in what he was hearing. It was something he had thought about a lot. Especially after he had found the paper clipping.

"A lot of the nightmares usually involve my childhood and seeing things Like wolves that weren't really wolves and people who....just didn't look right if'n ya catch my drift. But mostly. Especially the night of my parents death." Swallowing nervously Bucky takes his own cap off and twists it a bit.

"They told me that whatever killed em' wasn't human. I been seein' wolf like creatures in my dreams and to be honest...I wanted to hunt them down. hunt em all down like the dogs they are"

Gary sits back and listens to what Bucky has to say, while lighting a cigarett.
"Mind if I smoke in here?" he asks while taking a drag on it.

"D'you remember Star Wars? The whole 'Don't let in to your anger' spiel? It's mostly bullshit. The creatures you see, the sadists, murderers and psychos that are out there, they must be stopped, at any cost. Noone else wants to see them, but we do, that's why it's our responsibility to seek them out, and our anger is a tool to use. They must be brought to justice. "

Gary leans back and smiles a little. "Boy, I didn't think that my ad would catch anything worth keeping, but I can be wrong. Feel like proving me wrong?"

Bucky pulled out a cigarette himself and lit it. Sitting back he listened to what Gary had to say.

It wasn't hard to be tempted by what he had to say. Especially with what he spoke of with the psychopaths. He wanted revenge for his parents death. Why not...

"trust me Gary I got plenty of anger to use".

Eyeing Bucky from his chair, Gary looks ultimately content.

"Okay, let's get to it."
