Lillian only receives two callbacks.

The first is left in a wavering voice. Male. Probably high. Certainly white. Stifled laughter is audible in the background.

"...Yeah hi, I want... uh ... I want to procure ... secure, shitwit ... your services for a gambling venture involving... pro golf ... totally legit. Also I'm a Saudi Prince ... Wu Tang! *Jadakiss Laugh*"

It wouldn't take a scholar of human interaction to see the message for either a puerile dare or the least effective prank call in recent history.

The second is delivered by a strong female voice.

"Miss Page, my name is Fiona Lichfield. One of your cards reached me through a colleague of mine and I was wondering if you'd do a reading for me and consent to its recording. You can reach me at any time before 9:00 PM on the following number. Thank you for your time."

You note a tone of skepticism in the woman's voice, but she is otherwise pleasant.

Anasztaz sat in the living room with a small net book on his lap. The TV that Lillian had picked up blared some dish washer detergent commercial in the background. A few magazines and newspapers arrayed disorderly all around himself. He was the eye of the storm, serene in that chaos.

What could have been information overload for a normal human didn't mean much for an undead mind. There was no fatigue, a certain limit in the amount of input but no saturation.

It had been a while. Every blink in his scattered existence had this as one of the greater challenges, just waiting for him upon awakening. If he expected in any way to succeed in any social arena he had to be up to events, threads, trends, even memes.

Until he could come to terms with the status quo, it was the best way to spend his time.

Lillian joined Anasztaz in the living room with cell phone in one hand and laptop tucked her arm. She sits down next to the vampire, placing the laptop on her knees and finding a reverse look-up site. She puts in the number of the prank caller first, some petty little monster inside of her more than eager to play a much bloodier 'prank'.

"How has the night treated you so far?" The question is without tone, perhaps only asked out of courtesy.

"This is odd to say, but I miss the 90s. I understood them better." Anasztaz says. It was a dangerous admission of sorts, to accept even a measure of anachronism. Perhaps it was even an attempt at humor.

"How was your day?" This was a loaded question. Of course he wanted to hear progress more than anything.

"I received two call backs from my venture to find a candidate for you. One was a prank call. I'd like to hand him over to you." Lillian didn't try to hide the fact that she could be vindictive over trivial matters.

"I am trying to look up his home address now." She looks over at Anasztaz as she speaks, no longer staring at the glow of her monitor.

"Lovely. I love good humor, yes. Anything more clever than these... keyboard cats." Anasztaz says. Obviously he had hit upon a few memes in his research already. It kind of put into question how productive his research into current decade's culture had been so far.

"Find him. I am enamored with the idea already, with so little I know of it and all."

"I have an address. Will you be taking care of the rest?" Lillian moves the laptop to sit at the edge of the sofa, finding an old receipt and writing it down for Anaztaz.

"I will, if they are fitting. You didn't collect much information about them, so they may end up being unsuitable for all we know." Anasztaz says, pocketing the scrap of paper.

"Hopefully they will be more than suitable, though, and receptive to my charms."

He walks to the back of the room and grabs his jacket, before walking to the mirror in the wall and straightening up the best he could with such a blurry reflection.

With that he left, and proceeded to stalk the pranksters from a far distance. Only cutting the distance somewhat in public and crowded areas where it'd not make it too suspicious. Once satisfied the caller was just right, he'd reel him in like he had done many others. By the end of the night he'd be walking aimlessly in Delray, sprinkled with the blood of his charmer.

It took no less than nine hours spread through two nights to narrow down on the subject. Less than he had wanted to. Perhaps he should have left this part to Lillian likewise. And finding the target wasn't even the hard part of the endeavor.

To enter the campus it had been an exercise of social surgery, to convince those who'd get in his way that he had every right to be there as part of a department or another; convincing and conventional stories drilled further in by the diamond-tip drill of his supernatural presence.

Once inside, it was a different matter that did not play on his strengths at all - in fact, it rather was one of his weaknesses; Remaining relatively inconspicuous and maintain a low profile in a large place full of people while getting to his quarry.

Finding him had been grueling, but manipulating the heart of the youth had been not. It was like molding wet clay . He implanted the idea like it was the funnest thing to do in the evening. It was like streaking in campus, just that instead of the campus it was the worst part of town, and instead of naked you were just covered in blood. These were just irrelevant minutiae, however.

Before too long they were in a cab back to Delray, to the empty shell of a building that looked like out of a picture from the Blitz of London. An empty, blackened husk of a building.

While the student went on to wander, Anasztaz walked back leaving him there to his fun. Not a pang of regret in his soul. The nagging feeling had been supplanted by feeling a change in the evening wind, and hearing strange scrapping sounds. Perhaps it was the Beast's way of saying how it approved of it, or perhaps they were real stimuli. It was hard to tell, but ultimately inconsequential.

The die was cast, and now it was a matter of waiting to see where they landed.
